Calling All Fans of Audubon

In conjunction with other local organizations, the Sharon Historical Society is planning an exhibition for the fall of 2018 on the life and work of John James Audubon, with a focus on his depictions of birds and animals from the northeastern United States.  The show as planned will include a number of his famous prints of birds and animals, a historical section on his life and work, another on the wonderful Audubon facilities in Sharon, and a show in the gallery of new art by local artists inspired by his love of nature.  We hope to obtain loans of Audubon prints and historical materials for the show from a number of locations, but it occurs to us that some of you, members and friends of the Sharon Historical Society, may have material related to Audubon that may be appropriate for the show or that you would just like us to know about.  If so, would you mind getting in touch?  Please email us at director@sharonhist.org with the subject line “Audubon” or call Jennifer Owens, Executive Director at 860-364-5688.  We will treat all communications from you in confidence!
