Members of the Sharon Historical Society are invited to our annual meeting on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:30 am. The meeting will be held at the Sharon Town Hall in the Chapin Meeting Room, 63 Main Street in Sharon, Connecticut. Please RSVP to Director@SharonHist.org or 860-364-5688.
This year’s speaker is James Nicoloro, Producer of Thirteen/WNET’s “A Walk Through Central Park with David Hartman and historian Barry Lewis”. Mr. Nicoloro will share with us his favorite clips from the 120 minute documentary that explores the unique history, characters, areas, and structures that define this cherished New York 843 acre oasis. In addition, he will discuss and take questions on how he and his team went about creating this engaging walking tour down and around the park’s 51-block interior, stopping at more than three dozen points, including Bethesda Fountain, Harlem Meer, the Zoo, the Claremont Riding Academy, the Terrace Bridge, Museo del Barrio, Strawberry Fields, the Reservoir, the Conservatory Garden, Belvedere Castle, and the Obelisk.
