On Friday, July 27 at 5 pm the Sharon Historical Society and Museum and the Sharon Town Hall present the next lecture their “History at the Hall” series, entitled “Norman Rockwell & the Four Freedoms.” Stephanie Plunkett, Deputy Director and Chief Curator of the Normal Rockwell Museum will discuss the significance of these paintings which were inspired by President Franklin Roosevelt’s 1941 “Four Freedoms” speech. The iconic Rockwell paintings were published in consecutive issues of the Saturday Evening Post in 1943 and were exhibited across the country raising $133,000,000 in war bonds and stamps that supported American efforts in WWII.
