Day of Ballet: Featuring The Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory

May 11 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

The Sharon Historical Society and Museum (SHSM) will be hosting Victoria Mazzarelli and students from The Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory for a program on Saturday, May 11, from 11am to 1pm.

Victoria Mazzarelli is Artistic Director, Executive Director, and alumna of The Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory in Torrington. At 11am, she will discuss her career and life as a professional ballet dancer travelling throughout Europe as principal dancer for various ballet companies. Following the talk will be opportunities to share memories about your own dance experiences.

Students from The Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory will join Victoria and provide dance demonstrations and further opportunities to discuss ballet and its techniques. There will also be plenty of time to view the exhibition Ballet Through the Lens: Photography of Fran Kelsey and help identify individuals in the photographs. Beyond those displayed in the exhibit, copies of some of the additional 750 ballet images included in the Frances Moorehouse Kelsey Archives at SHSM will be available to view.

We encourage those of all ages to join us for a wonderful day of ballet. No registration required; admittance is free.
