From Sharon to Spoon River: A Guided Theatrical Experience in the Historic Sharon Burying Ground
October 9, 2021 @ 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Audience members will follow a tour guide, who will recount tales and history of the venerable cemetery while escorting them to various locations where actors will bring to life, as it were, original stories and selected works from Spoon River Anthology by Edgar Lee Masters.
There will be nine tours beginning at 12 noon every 45 minutes.
This performance is suitable for all ages. All current local and federal guidelines for social distancing will be followed and attendees will be required to wear a mask. We also ask that you wear comfortable shoes and have the ability to walk through the hilly cemetery and be able to stand for the hour-long performance.
This production is a collaboration of four Sharon, CT nonprofit organizations including the Sharon Playhouse, the Sharon Historical Society, The Historic Sharon Burying Ground, Inc. (Hillside Cemetery) and the Hotchkiss Library.
Please register for a specific entry time. All performances begin at the cemetery entrance on Cemetery Road. Click on THIS LINK to register.
