This first of four panel discussions in the ‘Reinventing Farming’ Oral History Program. This panel is moderated by Carol Ascher and features Matt Freund of Freund Farm, Rebecca Ridgway of Ridgway Farm, and Sarah Paley Coon of Paley Farm Market & Garden Center. Reinventing Farming is an oral history program about how small farmers in our region are finding niches amidst climate change, industrial farms, and large supply chains. Visitors are invited to engage with issue-based videos, an exhibit of changing farming implements, including photos of local farms over time, and moderated panels with local farmers and agriculture teachers. The videos and exhibits are integrated within a larger historical exhibition, ‘Sharon Stories in the World and at Home,’ connecting historical and contemporary farming issues.

Location: Sharon Historical Society & Museum, 18 Main Street, Sharon CT 06069.
