In anticipation of the United States Semiquincentennial, the Sharon Historical Society & Museum presents Independence Revisited: Sharon in 1776, 1876, 1976, which traces the community’s relationship with its revolutionary past.

This exhibition tells the remarkable story of Augusta Malquit—known locally as “Charcoal Annie”—a French immigrant who arrived in Sharon at seventeen and built a business that became essential to the region’s iron industry.
