Explore 100 artifacts from the Sharon Historical Society & Museum’s collection that illuminate the people, places, and events that have shaped Sharon, past and present. Highlights include Julia Gay’s exceptional double-hemisphere embroidered map sampler from c. 1806—one of only a few such schoolgirl maps known to survive. A selection of chairs spanning three centuries traces Sharon’s transformation from an isolated colonial settlement to a prosperous community linked to broader networks of trade, fashion, and cultural exchange. Sharon in 100 Objects is curated by Abbey Nova, Executive Director of the Sharon Historical Society & Museum. A historian and nonprofit leader, she has worked at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Frick Collection, and The Park Avenue Armory, and has conducted extensive historical research on 19th-century American silver. Her work has been published in The Magazine Antiques and The Journal of the Smithsonian. Ms. Nova holds a Master of Arts in the History of Decorative Arts and Design from Cooper-Hewitt and Parsons The New School, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Dartmouth College.
