Family Ties: The Ebenezer Gay Family

Visit this exhibition of artifacts and documents from the life of Ebenezer Gay and individuals in his extensive family. As a young man he moved from Litchfield to Sharon, where he established a mercantile business and served in many roles until his death at the age of 58. His roles included Deputy to the General Assembly and Lieutenant Colonel of the 14th Regiment during the Revolution. In 1775, Ebenezer Gay built the brick house now known as the Gay-Hoyt House and the home of the Sharon Historical Society & Museum.
