How much has our town changed, and how much has it stayed the same? Journey through more than a century of Sharon’s history as seen through the lenses of three local photographers: George Marckres, Edward Hutchinson, and Frances Morehouse Kelsey.
Beginning with Marckres’ rare glass plate negatives from the 1880s, this exhibition explores the evolution of our community’s life, landscapes, and people. From lively dances on the Town Green to summer swims in Mudge Pond, these images offer a vivid window into our shared past.
The exhibition is brought into the present day with contemporary photographs from the Housatonic Camera Club, creating a powerful “then and now” dialogue that reveal both the subtle and dramatic shifts in our town’s structures and landscapes.
